When and why do we celebrate Mothers Day

Have you ever wondered why do we celebrate mothers day every year, we celebrate mothers day throughout the world to show our respect, love and care towards our mothers and we celebrate it to honor her for everything she done for us and the society. But mother's day is celebrated on different dates in different countries! 

Mothers Day in USA 2015

In US the celebration of Mothers Day started on early 20th century, first celebrated in the year 1908 as a result of Anna Jarvis campaign to make mothers day as a recognized holiday in United States which she begun when her beloved mother died in 1905. Her mother Ann Reeves Jarvis was a peace activist and take cared of many wounded soldiers during the civil war. Because of Anna Jarvis campaign mothers day is celebrated in US and many other countries on second Sunday of May every year.

Its not true that the mothers day celebration originated from US , mothers day is been celebrated in many parts of world way before but Anna's campaign got a world wide importance.
